I’m so thrilled to see Snacking Dinners the cookbook doing so well out in the world! We’re somehow already at a third printing, less than 6 months after launch, and
I’d absolutely love to see you at one of my upcoming talks and parties! I’ll be making little samples of the dishes in the book, and we’ll have a fun conversation—sometimes with special guest appearances. Here’s the full schedule (I’ll update this page as it evolves, so check back later for more):
HUDSON VALLEY: Saturday, Aug 16th: Talbot & Arding, Hudson, NY, 12–2pm
Come see me in Hudson at one of my favorite specialty food stores. They’ll be offering dishes based on recipes in the book, and I’ll be available to chat and sign books!
NYC: Tuesday, Aug 19th: Beer Street South, Brooklyn 6–9pm
Come join me and Chaat Dog for a pop-up book signing and party. I’ll be making mini snacks for anyone who picks up a book, and there will be lots of delicious food and drink options.
Portland: Sept TBD
SF: Monday, Sept 29th: Cooking Class at 18 Reasons 6–9pm
We’re doing a date night cooking class! Come learn to make a handful of quick, easy, date night-friendly Snacking Dinner recipes at the wonderful community kitchen 18 Reasons and enjoy dinner and drinks after with a friend or someone special. Profits fund the group’s free community programming. Sign up here!
PAST EVENTS:
Thursday, April 10th: Omnivore Books, San Francisco, 6:30pm - details here
The amazing chefs Nafy Flatley and Nora Haron will also be joining me at this event to talk about the recipes they contributed to the book.
Sunday, April 13th: Now Serving, Los Angeles, 6pm - details here
This event will be a conversation with Hillary Dixler Canavan, creator of The New Family Table newsletter (and former Eater restaurant editor). The event has a ticket charge, but the price is basically just the cost of pre-ordering the book. (If you already have one, you can also opt for a lower-price ticket that functions as a store credit so you can get some of the other fun things they carry, like cards and notebooks.)
[Thursday, April 17th: Private Event, Montecito, books by Chaucer’s Books—We’re throwing a little party for my Santa Barbara community. This is invitation only, but as I know some of this newsletter’s readers are part of that community, I wanted to mention it here; we have a couple of spots left, so if you’re in town, please reach out!
Chaucer’s Books in Santa Barbara will also have additional signed copies to buy (in store or online). I’d love it if you’d support this hometown institution!]
Thursday, May 1st: Google Kitchen Demo, Mountain View
If you happen to work at Google, or know someone who does, come on by to try a few of the dishes from the book! Sign up in advance, and they’ll gift you a copy of the book, too.
Saturday, May 10th: Market Hall Indie Fest, Oakland, 12-3pm - details soon
I’m being featured at the second annual Indie Fest! Come by to meet and learn about independent food producers. I got a lot of my specialty ingredients at this spot while I was working on the book, so I can tell you what to stock up on!
Saturday, May 31st: Rose’s Taproom, Oakland, 3-6pm
I’m teaming up with one of my oldest friends, Hilary Rose Hufford (her family moved in next door when I was seven!) to do a collaboration. We’ll have dishes from the book paired with her gorgeous beers. Should be delicious!
June 26th, Cook Book Bake, Hove, UK - 5pm-7pm
Recipe demo and tasting—UK style! I’ll be making three recipes from the book, talking about all things snacky, and signing books.
Saturday, July 19th: Gold Ridge Organic Farms, Sebastopol, 10:30–11:30am
Recipe demo and tasting with farm ingredients. Come see how I use local ingredients to make one of my very favorite snacking dinners; tour the beautiful farm; and taste award-winning olive oils, vinegars, and other products.
Tuesday, July 29th: Book Society, Berkeley, 6-8pm
Talk and discussion at Berkeleys’ only book/wine shop! We’ll be tasting dishes from the book (and wine pairings, if you like) and talking all things snacky. Adults only.
ONLINE: Wednesday, July 30th: Talk Shop Live, 5pm(PDT)
I’ll be streaming live on the site Talk Shop Live to demo recipes from the book and talk about how to get dinner on the table in a fast, fun way. Signed books will be available through a one-click portal. Watch it live (or after it airs) here: https://talkshop.live/watch/cms3ahfKZoIJ
I’m also in discussions about more Bay Area Events, a possible jaunt to Portland, and other potential trips. Check back for more as plans evolve!
Come to Chicago!!! So excited for you!
